Chocolate bombs are all the rage these days! They are quite expensive but this simple recipe is a fun way to enjoy the classic comfort drink without the added expense. All you need is a few ingredients and a lot of Christmas spirit!
Ingredients:
- Milk of your choice or water if you prefer
- 4 Kinder eggs
- Mini marshmallows
- hot chocolate mix (optional)
- Crushed Candy Cane
- White chocolate chips
Tools
- Knife
- Small Pot or microwave
First, unwrap each kinder egg using a knife run under warm water, carefully separate the two sides of the egg, removing the toy inside.
Add a handful of mini marshmallows and/or a spoonful of hot chocolate mix. I prefer no mix as it gets too sweet for my liking. Use the knife to place against the edge of the egg to create the "glue" in putting them back together. Hold the melted edges together and place them in the fridge to harden.
In the meantime, melt 1/3 cup of white chocolate chips to decorate and top with the crushed candy cane.
Feel free to get creative with toppings if you would like to match a theme.
Some fun ideas: Icing sugar, crushed candy bars, rainbow sprinkles, marshmallow paste, caramel, salt, cinnamon, vanilla powder, peanut butter, Nutella or even coffee! The list is endless!
Any unused chocolate bombs can be stored in the fridge or freezer for future use, up to 2 months.
